WHAT IS A NATURE HOUSE?
CLOSING THE LOOP
The greenhouse allows for a closed local loop of plant nutrients where the wastewater from toilets, dishwashing and laundry is pre-processed in tanks, infiltrated in the plant beds and thus purified. The plants take up nutrients and converts it to fruits and vegetables, the loop is closed.
LIVE IN A GREENHOUSE
The greenhouse provide amazing living spaces protected from rain, wind and snow. A climate equivalent to northern Italy. Area surrounding the house is used in light clothing from March to October. The living area grow and shrink with seasons, in early spring comfortable zone expands in the greenhouse and in the winter it comes together into the core building.
We strive to minimize the ecological footprint of the nature house. Through sustainable materials, preferably wood and without poisons. By designing the core building well insulated for low energy use. Overall, this gives a net-positive impact giving back in the form of fruits and vegetables and optionally electricity from the sun.
Living in a garden encourages inhabitants to seek a thoughtful and non-toxic lifestyle. It becomes very clear why one should not emit pollutants in the environment then it turns back to its own recycling system. Knowledge on what to actually change can be provided by GreenhouseLiving.
Living in a greenhouse means you everyday walk past the tomatoes on the way to the roof terrace. This closeness makes it a lot easier to get a good harvest. The climate in the greenhouse allows the cultivation of plants from warmer climates such as wine, kiwi, apricots and figs. The greenhouse can be a puzzle piece on the path to self-catering ...
APPROPRIATE ENERGY TECHNOLOGY
We want to create buildings that are net providers of useful energy. In order to achieve this we deploy new technologies such as solar photovoltaic (PV) cells, but we are not averse to combine advanced technologies with simple solutions such as maximizing benefit of natural ventilation.
MORE LIFE FOR THE BUCK
The natural house combine a compact heated area with generous non-heated greenhouse area. The protective greenhouse shell allow the insulated house to be built more easily and with greater freedom in design.
THE GREENHOUSE IS A MEETING PLACE
Interest in urban agriculture is huge and many municipalities also make an effort to stimulate small-scale and home close to the culture, as part of a larger sustainability thinking. Cultivation is a mean to achieve several policy goals such as creating meetings, integration, security and rehabilitation, Greenhouses in the urban environment provides a public recreational room that extends the growing season and a forum for educational activities regarding eg sustainability and culture.
