Lindbacken Naturhus

A private greenhouse for a family with children close to the city of Uppsala. The villa has a large greenhouse room on two levels towards west, the lower level has a plant bed while the upper greenhouse room serves as a terrace for socializing with a dining area, outdoor kitchen and grill. The plant bed purifies greywater from the shower and washing, and converts the nutrients into fruit and vegetables.

The glass in this greenhouse is insulated. The consequence of this is that the heat exchange within the greenhouse becomes slower than if the glass had been uninsulated. Roofing of thin-film solar cells supplies the villa with electricity. The isulated part of the house are contructed of premanufactured straw-bale modules.
